چکیده

We study the degrees of freedom (DOF) of a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) two-way X relay channel, where there are two groups of source nodes and one relay node, each equipped with multiple antennas, and each of the two source nodes in one group exchanges independent messages with the two source nodes in the other group via the relay node. It is assumed that every source node is equipped with M antennas while the relay is equipped with N antennas. We first show that the upper bound on the total DOF for this network is 2min {2M,N} and then focus on the case of N ≤ 2M so that the DOF is upper bounded by the number of antennas at the relay. By applying signal alignment for network coding and joint transceiver design for interference cancellation, we show that this upper bound can be achieved when N ≤ ⌊ 8M 5 ⌋. We also show that with signal alignment only but no joint transceiver design, the upper bound is achievable when N ≤ ⌊ 4M 3 ⌋. Simulation results are provided to corroborate the theoretical results and to demonstrate the performance of the proposed scheme in the finite signal-to-noise ratio regime.

Degrees of Freedom for the MIMO Multi-way Relay Channel

This paper investigates the degrees of freedom (DoF) of the L-cluster, K-user MIMO multi-way relay channel, where users in each cluster wish to exchange messages within the cluster, and they can only communicate through the relay. A novel DoF upper bound is derived by providing users with carefully designed genie information. Achievable DoF is identified using signal space alignment and multipl...

Relay-Assisted Interference Channel: Degrees of Freedom

This paper investigates the degrees of freedom of the interference channel in the presence of a dedicated MIMO relay. The relay is used to manage the interference at the receivers. It is assumed that all nodes including the relay have channel state information only for their own links and that the relay has M ≥ K antennas in a K-user network. We pose the question: What is the benefit of exploit...

Degrees of Freedom in Multiuser MIMO

We explore the available degrees of freedom for various multiuser MIMO communication scenarios such as the multiple access, broadcast, interference, relay, X and Z channels. For the two user MIMO interference channel, we find a general inner bound and a genie-aided outer bound that give us the exact number of degrees of freedom in many cases. We also study a share-and-transmit scheme for transm...

Simultaneous Diagonalization: On the DoF Region of the K-user MIMO Multi-way Relay Channel

The K-user MIMO Y-channel consisting of K users which want to exchange messages among each other via a common relay node is studied in this paper. A transmission strategy based on channel diagonalization using zero-forcing beam-forming is proposed. This strategy is then combined with signal-space alignment for network-coding, and the achievable degrees-of-freedom region is derived. A new degree...

The Degrees of Freedom of the $K$-pair-user Full-Duplex Two-way Interference Channel with and without a MIMO Relay

In a K-pair-user two-way interference channel (TWIC), 2K messages and 2K transmitters/receivers form a K-user IC in the forward direction (K messages) and another K-user IC in the backward direction which operate in full-duplex mode. All nodes may interact, or adapt inputs to past received signals. We derive a new outer bound to demonstrate that the optimal degrees of freedom (DoF, also known a...
